About Roswell, GA
Roswell is a city in northern Fulton County, Georgia. At the official 2010 census, the city had a population of 88,346. The 2020 estimated population was 94,884, making Roswell the state’s ninth-largest city. A close suburb of Atlanta, Roswell has an affluent historic district.
In 1830, while on a trip to northern Georgia, Roswell King passed through the area of what is now Roswell and observed the great potential for building a cotton mill along Vickery Creek. Since the land nearby was also good for plantations, he planned to put cotton processing near cotton production.
Back in 1996, my husband Chris and I made the move to North Fulton County with the intention of building a family. As time has passed, we’ve grown intimately familiar with the nearby towns, including the neighboring Roswell. The opportunity to actively participate in and become an integral part of the community is a genuine blessing we hold in high regard. The thought of raising our family or running our business anywhere else is simply inconceivable to us.
Being passionate about dogs ourselves, it’s worth mentioning that Roswell is fortunate to have an outstanding park system. With a total of 19 parks and nearly 1,000 acres to explore, each of these spaces is designed to accommodate dogs and their owners. What’s even better is that two of these parks feature fenced-in dog areas, providing the perfect opportunity for your furry friend to burn off some excess energy after your journey to Roswell. While you’re there, don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in history by visiting the three historic house museums; rest assured, the grounds are also welcoming to dogs. Alternatively, you can bring your four-legged friend to our dog daycare while you embark on your own adventures or treat them to a spa day at Ruff House Resort to sample our exceptional grooming services.
As of the 2006 census, one-third of Roswell’s 5,000 registered businesses were home-based. The largest industries were retail, technology, food services, wholesale trade, and health care. Many Roswell residents work in nearby Atlanta.
